Gandhi

I keep forgetting that I'm not alone.
You were there in the beginning
You are there now
And you said you will be there until the very end
So why do I keep forgetting that I'm not alone.

I layed in bed one night
Reflecting on all the mistakes I've made
And that's when I asked myself,
when will I own myself completely?

But no matter what wrong I do
You are always right by my side
Guiding me with your light and helping me find my way
So now after lying in bed,
Thinking about all those times you caught me when I fell,
I'll finally remember that I'm not alone
All I hope is that tonight will not be the last time I'll see your light

[Writers Note:  I just realized that because the title is "Gandhi"  it makes it sound like the "you" I'm talking about in my poem is Gandhi, but it's not! Gandhi is just the title of the assignment I was given.  Just thought I'd clarify that.... :P]
